Bam adds Sheffield to board

20 April 2017 Dutch contractor Royal Bam Group is to appoint former Laing O’Rourke managing director Paul Sheffield to its board.

Sheffield announced in February that he was leaving his position as managing director of Laing O’Rourke’s engineering enterprise division, following the completion of the firm’s business plans to 2020.

He will now be nominated for appointment to Bam’s supervisory board at an extraordinary general meeting on 24 August 2017, for a role that will run until 2021.

Prior to his time at Laing, Sheffield spent 31 years at contractor Kier, spending the last four of those as chief executive.

The role at Bam has emerged following the retirement of the board’s chairman, P.A.F.W. Elverding. He will be replaced as chairman by H.L.J. Noy.
