UK - State of the Art MOT Centre Opens in Londonderry

Councillor Kathleen McCloskey, Mayor of Derry, officially opened the new Driver and Vehicle Testing Centre in Londonderry on April 29.This means that 13 MOT centres throughout Northern Ireland have been updated and the other 2 will be completed by September 2003. The equipment will ensure that DOE can continue to deliver the statutory testing responsibilities and fully meet EU testing obligations. Installation of the new test equipment is possible as a result of a Private Finance Initiative 17 year partnership worth £57m between DVTA and Ro Maha, a consortium made up of Maha, a German manunfacturing company, and Rotary Group from Northern Ireland.
