Telford & Wrekin chooses BSF winner

Shepherd Construction will deliver five new schools, replacing six existing sites as two of the schools will merge.

The first of the new schools to be built will be the Ercall Wood Technology College in Wellington, with work scheduled to begin early next year.

The £110m scheme is unusual in that it is being procured under the Academies Framework rather than through a PFI route, while the council will provide all ICT facilities separate to the contract.

Work will be part funded through the sale of council assets, including some land currently owned by the schools.
