Asset manager acquires Drumglass schools PFI

23 October 2012 UK asset manager, Foresight Group, has completed the acquisition of Northern Ireland’s Drumglass school PFI.

This week the company acquired the equity and loan note interests from Semperian PPP Investment Partners, for the high school PFI project, on the back of cash raised from its infrastructure Venture Capitalist Trust (VCT) shares.

The project is a 26-year concession to design, build, finance and maintain a 6,800 sq m secondary school in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. Construction was completed in 2000.

Foresight raised in excess of £33m for its infrastructure VCT Shares, the largest in the 2011-2012 tax year. The company intends to use these funds to invest in secondary market PFI and wider infrastructure projects.
