Brazil tenders stadium PPP

27 February 2013 The state of Rio de Janeiro has issued a tender for the development of the Mario Filho Maracana stadium.

The concession includes the management, operation and maintenance of the stadium and the Maracanazinho indoor arena, which is also housed within the complex.

With a value of $300m, the proposals will be presented on 11 April and will come with a contract term of 35 years.

A public consultation was held for the project between October and November last year as Brazil seeks to improve its infrastructure prior to the FIFA World Cup, to be held in the country in 2014.
