John Laing enters Swedish wind market

5 March 2013 John Laing has achieved financial close on its first Swedish wind project.

The Svartvallsberget Wind Farm in Sweden comprises the design, build, finance and operation of 10 2MW turbines and generation is expected to begin in spring 2014.

The project is expected to produce enough electricity to meet the needs of around 12,500 homes and offsetting 21,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year.

John Laing was 100% investor in the project and secured its position following its acquisition of two UK wind farms in 2012.
