Brazil launches new rail tender

5 March 2013 Brazil’s national transport agency ANTT has announced a new rail PPP in the north of the country.

The agency has published draft documents for the new railroad concession between Açailândia in the state of Maranhão and the Port of Vila do Conde, in the state of Pará.

A public consultation will now be carried out on the $1.5bn deal, which will see the development of 477km running between the two regions.

Prospective bidders have until 1 April to respond to the consultation.
