California city planning new road P3

6 March 2013 The city of Santa Clarita Valley in California is planning a new P3 deal to develop its I-5 highway.

Metro officials from the area have mooted a P3 scheme to widen the freeway to include additional toll roads and high-occupancy vehicle lanes, in what is the third-largest city in Los Angeles County.

Under the proposals, the city will partner with the private sector to create separate southbound and northbound carpool lanes from Parker Road in Castaic to Highway 14.

The project will also see renovation of the existing lanes and the addition of a new truck lane on the southbound freeway.
