Garvey has taken on the role from Julien Touati, also of Meridiam, who will step down to become vice-chair.
Meridiam acquired Allego back in 2018 and is looking to work with it to expand its development of charging infrastructure across the world. Allego recently announced a business combination with North American special purpose entity Spartan Acquisition.
Garvey’s arrival as chair of the board will give Allego further representation in the North America market, with her experience in the region providing an important boost to its expansion plans.
Prior to her time at Meridiam, Garvey served as the 14th Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and later as Acting Administrator and Deputy Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
