Brazil’s Ministry of Planning and Logistics (EPL) has announced that domestic firm CCR has won the auction to deliver the Inova Dutra highway P3.

One of the country’s major trade and travel arteries, connecting from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo, the highway will receive over $2.7bn of investment for modernization and expansion. The road is currently in the middle of a temporary extension concession, with the new one set to last for 30 years.

CCR beat competition from Grupo EcoRodovias for the 625km concession. Under the deal, CCR will give an upfront payment of $332m.

EPL was advised by Global Infrastructure Facility and PSPInfra, a banding together of the Inter-American Development Bank, BNDES and the IFC.

The deal is expected to be signed in Q1 of 2022.
