Chile hospital draws international bidders

Six teams in for Buin-Paine Hospital project.

The Chilean Ministry of Public Works has received six bids for its $120m Buin-Paine Hospital project.

Located in the Maipo province, the new hospital is one of 25 new hospitals for Chile that are to be built under the National Health Investment Plan 2018-2022.

The winning bidder will operate and maintain the 200 bed hospital for 19 years after completion.

The teams who submitted bids were a mixture of domestic and international firms, with Acconia, Sacyr and the Chinese Road and Bridge Corporation each entering with separate consortia.

The ministry’s undersecretary, Cristóbal Leturia, said that the authority was “very happy” with the concession procurement so far.

A call for economic offers is set to be released on November 10, 2020.
