The Department of the Navy has released a request for proposals (RFP) for its Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam energy P3.
It is looking for “innovative designs to maximize the energy production, storage capacity, and transmission/distribution capabilities”.
The new design, build, finance, operate and maintain project will be based on approximately 70 acres of ocean view land in the Salt Lake area of Oahu near Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH).
Under the plans, the energy generated will be consumed off base by either a utility purchase or private offtaker.
In addition to a number of state-domestic firms, Aecom, Crawford Architects, Deloitte, Hunt Companies; and WT Partnership registered their interest in the project.
Responses are due November 11, 2020.
