Connecticut education RFP released

University regeneration project comes to market.

Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU), on behalf of Southern Connecticut State University, has released a request for proposals (RFP) on its Gateway Community College (GCC) Long Wharf Campus project.

Located on Sargent Drive in New Haven, Connecticut, the authority has selected the largely vacant site to “leverage its value” by giving the university a “visible” presence in the area by providing 50,000sq ft of classroom and shop space.

The CSCU has said that it “encourages the use of private sector ingenuity” and is hoping for the project to “reuse or redevelop the property in a manner that is reflective of the city’s vision for the Long Wharf area and the State of Connecticut’s desire for economic development in federal Opportunity Zones”.

Responses are due November 9, 2020, questions must be submitted by October 5.
