Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (CITT), Miami Dade County, is today holding a special meeting to consider whether the Beach corridor phase of the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan should go ahead.
The meeting will decide whether an interim agreement will be signed with the consortium to complete the “first step” in completing the beach corridor section on the monorail stretching from Midtown Miami to the Miami Beach Convention Center.
In 2019, a consortium of Genting and Aqualand Development submitted an unsolicited proposal to the country, triggering the release of a request for proposals (RFP). Earlier this year, a Meridiam-led consortium, called Miami Beach Monorail (MBM) Partners, responded to that RFP.
The meeting will take place at 5pm October 15, 2020.
