Brazil city mulls lighting PPP

A Brazilian city is seeking public feedback on a lighting concession before taking next steps.

The city of Petrolina, in the north east of the country, has opened public consultations on the potential PPP takeover of the municipal lighting network.

The modelling of the project was developed by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development with the support of the consortium formed by Accenture do Brasil and Moyses & Pires.

If the contract moves forward, the winning company would be set to modernise, maintain and operate the services for duration of the 20 year contract, receiving an estimated BLR300m in return.

Consultation closes Jan 10.
