Barbados mulls airport P3

The Barbados government is to tender an airport P3.

The ministry of tourism and international transport is to seek partners for the development, operation and expansion of the Grantley Adams International Airport.

Under a lease of 20-30 years, the operator will deliver a new apron to improve capacity and replace existing edge and apron lights with light-emitting diode (LED) installations.

The Caribbean Development Bank approved a $40.4m loan in October last year for the Grantley Adams International Airport Pavement Rehabilitation and Expansion Project.

The government is contemplating a co-operation deal with the International Finance Corporation to structure the project.
