The Spanish government, under the administration of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, will provide a contribution of $10m to structure projects in the transportation, water and sanitation, solid waste, education and health sectors.
Under the support for regional infrastructure and public-private partnerships initiative, both partiers commit to financing studies for projects with potential for private investment.
The scheme will be implemented through the Spanish General Cooperation Fund, which the IDB has managed since 2001.
Last week Colombia’s Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional signed a $94.6m credit line deal with CAF to facilitate infrastructure investments in the country.
