President and chief executive Pierre Lavallée has announced that François Lecavalier will join the CIB from December 3.
Lecavalier has nearly 30 years’ experience leading infrastructure and private equity projects in Canada and Europe, and most recently was senior vice president at the Business Development Bank of Canada.
Prior to this, Lecavalier was vice president of SNC Lavalin Capital and had also held various positions at the London-based European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In his new role, Lecavalier will lead a team to provide advisory services to public proponents of infrastructure projects, incubate new projects from idea to bankability, build a national inventory of new projects, and codify global best practices.
“Francois adds depth and breadth to our team as he is deeply familiar with leading infrastructure and private equity projects,” said Lavallée.
Lavallée announced the appointment as he spoke at the annual CCPPP conference in Toronto, where he reiterated the CIB’s focus on crowding in private investment.
As part of an exclusive interview with Lavallée, P3 Bulletin reported last week on the strong interest that the CIB has generated.
