Rubicon hires general counsel

Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors has appointed a managing director and general counsel based in New York to support the firm globally.

Sonia McMillan will have broad responsibilities within the global Rubicon team, providing legal and strategic advice on a wide range of business, corporate, and transactional activities across Rubicon’s global offices.

McMillan’s roles have included legal advisor to sponsors and financiers, and equity investor in relation to the development, acquisition, and financing of infrastructure projects in Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America. She is qualified to practice as an attorney in Australia, England and Wales, and New York (pending).

Prior to joining Rubicon, McMillan led the North America platform of fund manager, InfraRed Capital Partners, where she was responsible for executing equity investments. She guided InfraRed through its first infrastructure investments in North America and the expansion of its investment activities into Israel and South America. Prior to InfraRed, McMillan was a senior associate at Allen & Overy in London and New York.
