BCLP hires St Louis official

Law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) has appointed an associate with P3 experience who has spent the past three years working for the St Louis government.

Timothy O’Connell has returned to the firm’s St Louis office having most recently worked as chief of staff to the city’s mayor. He previously served as legal counsel to the St Louis Board of Aldermen.

O’Connell will advise public and private companies, banks and other financial institutions, non-profits and governments on financial services and real estate transactions.

He has experience across a broad range of areas, including P3s, redevelopment agreements and complex litigation.

Prior to his first stint at Bryan Cave, working as a litigator, he spent a decade as a journalist working at the Washington Post and the St Louis Post-Dispatch.

“With new vehicles for investment, such as the federal opportunity zones, his public sector experience brings tremendous benefit,” said Jim Buell, co-leader of the firm’s real estate practice.
