John Laing makes US hire

Investor John Laing has hired an investment director to lead US P3 activities.

Sven Kottwitz has joined the British firm and will be based in New York.

Kottwitz was most recently with Parker Infrastructure Partners, and was previously a managing director with Meridiam until October 2017. Before joining Meridiam in 2010 he was based in London.

“Sven brings a wealth of PPP experience from Meridiam in the US as well as Europe," a spokesperson for John Laing told P3 Bulletin

Meanwhile, the Cubic/John Laing consortium has achieved financial close for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s Automated Fare Collection P3 in Boston.

John Laing will contribute 90% of the project’s equity ($24.3m) and will also take a lead asset-management role in the project.
