Brazil issues airport deals

Brazil has launched the tenders for two international airport PPPs, valued at $6.85bn.

The tenders are for the development and operation of the Galeão airport in Rio de Janeiro city and the Confins airport near Minas Gerais state capital Belo Horizonte.

As part of the Galeão deal, a private firm will be responsible for the expansion of the current facility, including the construction of f 26 loading bridges and a new parking facility for 1,850 cars.

The Confins proposals come with an expected investment of around $1.5bn dollars over a 30-year concession.
Proposals for the deal are now due on 18 November, with bidding expected to begin on 22 November.
