Philadelphia’s proposed Southport redevelopment P3 has received expressions of interest from 16 organisations.

The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) issued a request for expressions of interest on October 1 and the deadline to respond has now passed, with the following 16 teams responding:
  • Atlantic Realty
  • Global Auto Processing Services
  • Katoen Natie Group
  • Liberty Property Trust
  • MarkWest Energy Partners
  • OHL Infrastructure
  • Philadelphia Energy Solutions
  • Walsh Construction

  • Holt Logistics

  • Penn City Investments & Affiliated Companies
  • T. Parker Host

Under the plans, a winning bidder will develop the three waterfront sites collectively known as the Southport complex: the Southport Marine Terminal (119 acres); the Southport West Terminal (75 acres); and the Pier 124 North Berth, a 1,132 foot long finger pier.

“Our hope is that the current Southport initiative will bring about a partnership between PRPA and one or more private firms to fulfil our potential for expansion and economic growth,” said PRPA chairman Charles G. Kopp.
