The MOP has tendered four airports, comprising Carriel Sur, in Concepcion; Diego Aracena in Iquique; The Tepual, in Puerto Montt; and Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, in Punta Arenas.
The plan is part of the infrastructure financing policy implemented by the government, which seeks private sector participation in the construction, maintenance, repair and operation of the airport facilities to be tendered in 2015.
Meanwhile, by the end of 2015 Chile’s government also is expected to open bids for five projects. The $387m water reservoir project Emblase La Punilla has already been tendered, with a deadline to submit proposals set as December 2015.
