RFQ delayed for Toronto hospital

The request for qualifications (RFQ) for the Toronto East General hospital P3 has been delayed until early next year, P3 Bulletin can reveal.

Infrastructure Ontario told P3 Bulletin that the RFQ had been pushed back to mid-January from its original fall issue date due to staging reasons and to allow other deals to be brought to market.

As a result, it has been decided that January is a more suitable time for the client and the agency.

A spokesperson for IO said that there were no other issues holding the deal back and that the decision was a matter of procedure to avoid over-saturating the market.

Once issued in the New Year, a private team will be selected to design, build and finance the New Patient Care Tower project, which is the first phase of the multistage master plan redevelopment of the site.
