Mexico shortlists 2 for road P3

Mexico’s transport authority Secretaria de comunicaciones y transportes (SCT) has shortlisted two teams for its P3 viaduct project.

The consortiums shortlisted for the La Raza-Indios Verdes-Santa Clara elevated highway P3 in Mexico are Omega Corp with Caabsa Infraestructura and Mota-Engil Mexico.

Under the deal the winning firm will design, build, operate and maintain the viaduct for 30 years. The road will enable rapid access to the Mexico City.

Works for the $338m ($5.6bn pesos) project involves the construction of four lanes in the Mexico – Pachuca highway, running for 9.5km.

On October 27 the SCT will announce the winning bidder.

The private sector in Mexcico has recently called on the federal government to create an independent organisation to promote and accelerate the use of P3.
