Paraguay plans 3 more deals

Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works (MOPC) will tender three “emblematic” P3 projects before the end of this year

The projects are: the modernization of Silvio Pettirossi airport; the sanitation and sewerage project for the cities of Lambaré, Luque and Mariano Roque Alonso; and a paving project for the Carmelo Peralta, Cruce Centinela and Loma Plata (Chaco) roads.

The $200m Silvio Pettirossi airport involves the upgrade and development of a new terminal doubling the airport's capacity to two million people. The winning bidder will operate and maintain the project for 30 years.

For the other two schemes, the works for the sanitation and sewerage project are valued at $425m, while roads upgrade project is valued at $315m.

Meanwhile, among the pipeline of projects are routes 2 and 7, which have been prioritized for awarding by September. There are 11 companies currently shortlisted for this project.
