Eight in for Peru energy P3

Peru’s public authority ProInversion has qualified eight teams for its P3 power plant project.

The firms qualified for the $180m Quillabamba thermal power plant in the city of Cuzco are:
  • Edegel
  • Pacahuasi Energia
  • Contour Global Peru
  • Global Power Generation
  • Enersur
  • Luz del Sur
  • Macabi II consortium, comprising VPower Engineering, Quillabamba Services and Telemenia
  • EnerCuzco consortium, comprising Invenergy clean power development Peru and Isolux Ingenieria

Under the deal the winning firm will be required to design, build, maintain, finance and operate for 20 years the “Central Térmica de Quillabamba” concession. 

Works also involves new facilities to provide a direct connection with the national electric system (SEIN) that include:

  • Electrical Substation of 13.8 kV / kV 60/220.
  • Transmission line 220 kV of about 35 Km.
  • Expansion of arrival cells of Suriray Electrical Substation.
  • A specific facility for the operation of the plant.
  • Connections to South Peruvian Pipeline.

This project is included in the P3 pipeline valued in $15bn announced by ProInversion in September.
