The Louisiana State University (LSU) Property Foundation has selected two firms as finalists to design, build, finance, operate and maintain new student residence halls and other amenities

American Campus Communities and RISE Real Estate have been invited toenter into negotiations for the project, with a winner to be selected inspring 2016.

The LSU Property Foundation will contract with the chosen developer,which will then contract directly with its project team members, whenthe final composition of each team might change.

American Campus Communities proposes a project team including Coleman Partners Architects; Lincoln Builders; Saurage Rotenberg Commercial Real Estate and Provident Resources; Shreve Land Constructors; Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas & Company; and RBC Capital Markets.

RISE Real Estate proposes a project team including Remson Haley Herpin and Provident Resources Group; The Lemoine Company and Stirling Properties, Niles Bolton Associates; Stantec and also RBC Capital Markets.

As previously reported, a request for proposals was issued in October to five developers after the authority received 10 responses to request for qualifications issued in July. Four teams including Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions and Capstone Development Partners presented proposals, after Corvias Campus Living withdrew from the process.

The Nicholson Gateway Development Project is to include approximately 1,260 apartment-style beds and 410 suite-style beds with associated residential support spaces. The project is also expected to include 30-50,000sq ft of new retail space.
