Paraguay issues P3 airport

The government of Paraguay has launched a project to modernize and expand the busiest airport in the country.

Paraguay’s government is seeking companies to design, upgrade, build, finance, operate and maintain the new $148.7m terminal for the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport.

Under a 30-year concession contract, the winning firm will build a new 78,000sq m passenger terminal adjacent to the existing one at Paraguay’s main international airport.

Opening of bids is scheduled for April 2016. The project is expected to be awarded in July 2016 and signed by November 2016.

Works are expected to begin in March 2017 for the airport to be in operation over the following 24 months.

As previously reported by P3 Bulletin, the tender for the project had been expected to be launched this week.
