Coalianza has awarded the contract to the Energía Honduras consortium.
Energía Honduras is comprised of Electricas de Medellin (ETHUSS Group), with a 51% stake and Union Electrica (Union Group) with a 25% interest.
The remaining 24% stake is owned by Enterprise Capital Consulting, a Honduran company linked to two financial groups in the country (Banco Atlantida and Banco de Occidente).
Under the contract the private company will invest $360m to design, modernize, manage, operate and maintain the distribution assets of ENEE over seven years.
As previously reported by P3 Bulletin, Canada’s Manitoba Hydro International was also bidding for this project.
