LA adds supplier for APM

Los Angeles World Airports has added a firm to the list of approved suppliers for the Automated People Mover (APM) at Los Angeles International Airport.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is the fourth firm to be added to the list of companies that have met LAWA’s performance requirements under the APM Operating System Supplier Eligibility Determination procurement track.

The Japanese engineering giant joins Ansaldo, Bombardier and Siemens on the list.

The APM and Consolidated Rent-A-Car Center (ConRAC) projects are two of the primary elements of the $5.5bn Landside Access Modernization Program at the airport.

The pre-bid conference for the ConRAC P3 contract is scheduled for Wednesday.
