Four in for Uruguay P3 road

Four companies have submitted proposals for the Road Network 3 project to be delivered under a P3 scheme.

Companies bidding for the design, build, operation and financing of the Road Network 3 (Circuito Vial 3) are:

  • Ramón C. Álvarez
  • Espina Obras Hidráulicas and Sociedad Anónima de Obras y Servicios (COPASA)
  • GRINOR and SACYR
  • Rover Alcisa and ALVAC

Works for the project involve upgrading 245km of the Route 14 located in Mercedes (Soriano), construction of the access bypass to Sarandí del Yí (Durazno) and construction of the connection with Route 3.

World Bank financial institutions MIGA and IFC have both expressed interest in providing finance for the project.

Uruguay is currently procuring the rail project Algorta-Fray Bentos and the Road Networks 1 and 2, and has opened a public consultation period for a plan to build 59 schools.

A more detailed look at the social infrastructure plan in Uruguay will be featured in the upcoming edition of P3 Bulletin
