RFQ for Ohio uni campus P3

Ohio University is seeking private partners to develop a mixed use, 700-acre campus with 40 buildings in Athens.

The site in the southeast of Ohio is known as The Ridges and contains historic asylum buildings, new build sites and several buildings that have been fully renovated.

Ohio University has identified several opportunities for potential expansion at the Ridges, including the relocation of many administrative units away from the main campus as well as the expansion of other units. However, developers are free to provide new ideas and seek new opportunities.

The university intends to select the team that is best suited to develop, maintain and operate elements of the Ridges project in ways that are financially sound and sustainable.

Various deal structures and financing mechanisms will be considered, however the university does not intend to convey real estate, own new improvements, or directly finance construction or renovation. The university may lease space in renovated or newly built structures.

Qualifications are due by December 21 and an information session will take place on January 9 in Athens. Proposals are expected to be submitted in February with a preferred bidder in May.

The university's advisors are Brailsford & Dunlavey, Schooley Caldwell & Associates, MKSK and Ayers Saint Gross.
