Paraguay govt backs airport P3

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has set legal actions to save the P3 process for the Silvio Pettirossi Airport.

The MOPC has presented an action of constitutional certainty before the Supreme Court of Justice to safeguard the delivery of Silvio Pettirossi Airport under a P3 scheme.

With this action the MOPC wants the Supreme Court of Justice to determine if the Comptroller Office exceeded its legal competencies when it recommended canceling the tender in April. Sacyr is currently preferred bidder on the deal.

On October 27, the ministry withdrew the judicial action filed on July 10 to the Court of Auditors, on the basis that its defense of the contract had changed.
