Deadline extended for Guyana bridge P3

The government of Guyana has extended the pre-qualification deadline for a bridge P3.

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure will be accepting pre-qualification documents until November 21 for the New Demerara River Bridge project, instead of October 17 as previously planned.

Developers will design, build, finance and maintain the 1,500m-long bridge from Houston on the eastern bank of the Demerara River to Versailles on the western bank of the river.

Under the plans, the authority will shortlist three contractors for the bidding phase of the project, which will be delivered in 2020.

The winner may also propose the build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) model.

Meanwhile, a local authority in French Guiana has postponed the deadline for the receipt of tenders for a transport P3.
