LA Metro selects Sepulveda study winner

Staff of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) have selected a preferred bidder to prepare the Sepulveda Transit Feasibility Study and Technical Compendium.

The board of directors have been asked to authorize the award of the 20-month firm fixed price contract to Sepulveda Mobility Partners, a joint venture between HNTB and WSP. The board will vote on the contract at today’s meeting.

The 20-month study will analyze a variety of options for adding new rail transit service between the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The results of the Study will support initiation of the environmental review process and further consideration of a P3 delivery method.

LA Metro received three other proposals for the $6.5m contract from HDR, Hatch and Aecom. The latter voluntarily withdrew its proposal.

As previously reported after an evaluation of proposals for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor from Parsons and Cintra, the agency plans to develop a request for proposals for the transit portion of the project as a P3.
