The teams invited to submit proposals for the project in Washington, DC, are;
- Rock Creek Parking Partners led by Meridiam, Smoot Construction, LAZ Parking with Walsh
- Secure-Investec led by Secure Parking and Investec with Whiting-Turner
- National Zoo Parking Group led by Edgemoor, Northleaf Capital Partners with Colonial Parking; and
- Gilbane-Provident led by Gilbane and Provident with Citi, Preston Hollow Capital and SP+ .
Proposals are due March 15, 2018, with a winner expected in April.
The contract involves the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the National Zoological Park’s Central Parking Facility. The Smithsonian seeks to consolidate and expand current parking facilities into a multi-story consolidated parking facility comprising 1285 parking spaces.
