Canada launches energy schemes

The government of Canada is inviting proposals from private partners for two federal building energy efficiency schemes.

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) is seeking firms for the provision of construction services, financing, training and monitoring to implement energy efficiency improvements at correctional facilities in Alberta and British Columbia.

Works will focus on the Matsqui, Fraser Valley and RTCP Pacific Institutions facilities in Abbotsford as well as the Drumheller Institution in Alberta.

The winner will upgrade the facilities to reduce electricity, fossil fuels and water consumption and provide training to ensure achieved consumption levels are constant.

PWGSC will be hosting a mandatory visit on November 21 for Alberta and November 23 for the facilities in British Columbia.

Interested parties have until February 28 to submit proposals (for both contracts).

Last week, PWGSC issued a request for qualifications to deliver a preservation facility under a P3.
