President Sebastian Pinera has returned to office with 54.6% of the votes in Sunday’s run-off, having been out of office since 2014.
Pinera ran on a platform pledging significant new infrastructure investment, and his pledges included a $20bn program of investment over eight years, focusing on public-private projects in highways, airports and metro rail schemes.
Last month, outgoing President Michelle Bachelet signed a new law creating a directorate-general of public works concessions.
