Jamie Christmas has been appointed CFO at John Laing, and brings a wealth of experience with him. Prior to his time at U&I, Christmas was in global roles as CFO of Round Hill Capital, a private equity real estate firm, and as head of group operations at private equity firm Coller Capital. Earlier in his career, he held CFO, finance director, and financial controller roles at CBRE and DTZ, having begun his career at KPMG.
Meanwhile, the firm has also hired James Abbott as its general counsel. Abbott will join in early May, arriving from Park Square Capital, where he held the same role. He was previously general counsel of AnaCap Financial Partners, and prior to this was senior counsel at Deutsche Bank, having begun his career at Linklaters in London and Hong Kong.
“Jamie brings extensive experience as a CFO across real estate, private equity, credit and broader fund management, along with broad operational experience, while James has significant experience as an international General Counsel across private equity, M&A and the wider financial services sector,” said John Laing chief executive, Ben Loomes.
Yesterday, the firm announced the appointment of PPP expert Robert Newton as a director in its portfolio & risk management team.
