ECF agrees deal for sustainable homes

The English Cities Fund (ECF) has agreed a deal with a private provider to bring forward new homes on its Salford site that will be highly sustainable.

Salix Homes has joined the ECF (a joint venture between Homes England, Muse Developments and Legal & General) to deliver 96 new properties as part of the ECF’s wider £1bn Salford centre regeneration programme.

Plot E6 will be renamed Greenhaus in reference to its focus on green credentials and sustainability, which will include an ambition to be Passivhaus certified.

The site will also include new public electric vehicle parking spaces, public square and greatly enhanced landscaping.

“We’re delighted to be working with Salix Homes to bring forward the next exciting chapter of the Salford Central story and one that will deliver much-needed affordable homes for the local community,” said Maggie Grogan, senior development manager at the ECF.
