Ireland seeks PPP insurance support

Ireland’s National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) has tendered for an insurance advisor to support its PPP projects.

The advisor will support the NDFA in its PPP projects, as well as non-PPP schemes, over the course of a four-year deal, worth €250,000.

Interested parties have until 17 December 2021 to respond to the notice.

Insurance has become a hot topic for operational PFI contracts in the UK, where there have been questions raised over the way in which uplifts caused by reductions in premiums are being shared between the public and private parties.

Critics have suggested that there needs to be greater commonality of approach in the way issues in the insurance sector are dealt with.
