Leicester explores extra care development

Leicester City Council has launched a soft market testing exercise to explore the potential of delivering new extra care facilities across two sites.

The authority is considering working with a partner to design, build, own and manage the extra care scheme and is seeking responses from interested parties on the proposals.

The two extra care schemes will provide accommodation for a range of vulnerable people aged 18+ including people with learning disabilities, people with mental health needs and people with physical or sensory disabilities, older people and people with dementia.

If the council chooses to proceed with the plans, a contract notice is anticipated for 15 April 2022, with an expected contract award before the end of that year.

Interested parties have until 7 December 2021 to submit the soft market testing questionnaire.
