Edinburgh seeks feedback on regen partner plans

The City of Edinburgh has launched a market consultation exercise on potential delivery methods for a major regeneration programme.

A prior information notice is seeking feedback from interested parties on the plans to redevelop the Granton Waterfront area of the city.

The plans include delivery of around 788 new Net Zero carbon homes, a school and medical centre, a heat network, new commercial space, plus public realm and transport related infrastructure.

“Despite the project’s challenges related to funding and contamination, this regeneration site offers a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to work with the council to create a new sustainable coastal town within Edinburgh’s Waterfront,” the notice said.

Potential bidders are invited to support the council in shaping its procurement strategy as well as the planned development strategy for the site.

Interested parties have until 19 November 2021 to submit the research questionnaire, and a contract notice  is anticipated to be published on 13 December.
