Thailand proposes PPP megaproject pipeline

Thailand’s State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) has announced plans to initiate a $5.3bn megaproject pipeline with PPPs this year.

Thailand’s State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO) has announced plans to initiate a $5.3bn megaproject pipeline with PPPs this year.

The authority detailed four projects:

  1. a new metro line from Tao Poon to Rat burna, Purple Line
  2. Two roadside accommodation and management centres on the stretches between Bang Pa-in and Nakhon Ratchasima and Bang Yai and Kanchanaburi
  3. A Phuket mass transit system between Phuket International Airport and Ha Yaek Chalong

"The PPP partnerships will also reduce investment constraints from the fiscal budget and government loans as well as enhance efficiency," said SEPO director-general, Pantip Sripimol.
