Ireland schools PQQ released

Second education bundle gathers pace following PIN

The National Development Finance Agency has launched a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) as it begins the search for private partners to deliver its Higher Education PPP Bundle 2.

Under the €140m contract, the private partner will deliver five schools ranging in size from approximately 5,000m² to 13,000m² gross floor area, and will then operate and maintain the facilities for 25 years. The locations of the five sites are Waterford, Limerick, Letterkenny, Carlow and Galway.

According to the indicative timeline, following this 16 week phase of PQQ, which will culminate in a shortlist of candidates, the authority will release an invitation to tender, with aiming to award the project in just over 18 months.

The Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science is the authority for this PPP bundle.

Responses to the PQQ are due by 16 December 2020.

In June 2020, the National Treasury Management Agency of Ireland unveiled the shortlist of teams bidding for the Bundle 1 of the programme – which included firms led by Macquarie, BAM and Equitix.
