Aecom HQ moves downtown

Reprioritisation sees consulting giant close ‘Avenue from the Stars’ office.

Aecom has announced that it will relocate its global headquarters to downtown Los Angeles as it continues its push to focus to become a “higher-margin, lower-risk” firm.

The firm will close its Avenue of the Stars office in the Century City business district of Los Angeles, consolidating its headquarters and corporate employees in its existing office on South Grand Avenue, downtown LA.

“As we continue our transformation to a higher-margin, lower-risk professional services firm, we are focused on ensuring our teams have the best opportunity to collaborate and deliver for our clients,” said Troy Rudd, Aecom’s chief executive officer.

“We are continuing to prioritise our time and capital towards delivering on our commitment to our stakeholders, and optimizing our real estate portfolio is a key driver of achieving these objectives.”

The move will be effective 1 January 2021.

As previously reported, Aecom’s reprioritisation drive has included the selling of its power construction business to CriticalPoint Capital.
