Aecom sells power construction business

Infrastructure consultancy Aecom has sold its power construction business as part of the firm’s strategy to become a higher-margin, lower-risk professional services company.

Its power business has been sold to affiliates of private equity firm CriticalPoint Capital, which specializes in corporate divestitures, companies in a state of transition and special situations across North America.

“We have built significant momentum in our business and continue to advance efforts to align our organization around a global structure that fosters a culture of collaboration, better connects our expertise and focuses on our best growth opportunities,” said Aecom chief executive, Troy Rudd.

Earlier this month, Aecom announced the integration of its design and consulting teams, which is to be led directly by the firm’s president, Lara Poloni.
