Winner for Victoria hospital PPP

The Government of Victoria in Australia has unveiled the preferred bidder for its largest ever healthcare infrastructure project.

The Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority (VHHSBA) has chosen the Plenary Health consortium as its preferred bidder for the Footscray Hospital project.

The Plenary-led consortium includes Soljitz, Multiplex and Honeywell and Compass; the design of the hospital was led by Billard Leece Partnership and Cox architecture.

Under the plans, the new 504-bed hospital will replace the existing Gordon Street hospital, and in doing so will provide 2,000 jobs for the region.

Delivered under a design, build, finance and maintain model, the construction is aiming to be completed in 2025, and the consortium will maintain the facility for 25 years.
